Mazda 6 diesel - Mistake, or not?. A close relative of mine has just purchased a brand new Mazda 6, 2.2 diesel. I haven't clapped eyes on it yet, but he hummed and haahed between the Mazda and a Jag XS, eventually going for the Mazda, I'd like to think, based on my advice regarding the reliability of the brand.
Having a 6 diesel for 3 years without issue is not itself indicative of a future without problems. The DPF should be considered part of long-term servicing, and will need to be changed at some point in the future as it breaks down. There are cheaper aftermarket options than going through Mazda directly though. What Does Code P2463 Mean? OBD II fault code P2463 is a generic code that is defined as “Diesel Particulate Filter Restriction – Soot Accumulation”, and is set on all diesel applications when the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects an excessive accumulation of solid particulate matter (diesel soot) in the diesel particulate filter
I've recently bought a late 2015 Mazda 6 2.2d Skyactiv. The car has 79k miles on with good service history. At 60k it had a new Turbo and at 64k it had a full carbon clean at the main dealers So far I've done about 600 miles in it, a mix of motorway (a couple of long trips, 120 miles each way) and town driving.
Let's explore how we can make the DPF last for a long long time without problems. In this video you will be able to see:* General overview of How the DPF work I am thinking of purchasing a five year old Mazda 6 2.2 diesel. I've identified a few for £7000 that have around 70,000 miles on the clock. Would you count these cars as good buys? I'm a little bit confused to if this model suffers from the dreaded PDF issues.
